Opening Ceremony

On Thursday, 3rd May 2018 Ysgol Bro Gwaun was officially opened by Kirsty Williams AM, Cabinet Secretary for Education. Joining the Cabinet Secretary for the ceremony were; Paul Edwards (Head Teacher), Cllr. Paul Harries (PCC Chair), Cllr. David Simpson (Council Leader), Ian Westley (Chief Executive PCC) and Wendy Raymond (Chair of Governors).

The dedication plaque was unveiled by the Cabinet Secretary in a special school assembly watched by the pupils, staff and specially invited guests.

The audience was treated to a fabulous harp ensemble, performed by three very talented young musicians from year 11, Elin Williams, Vaughan Batty and Ioan Evans.

Kirsty Williams thanked the pupils, staff and governors for welcoming her to the school and she was honoured to be asked to officially open the school.

She added that she was proud of the fact that the Welsh Government was able to support the £14.7 million pound project and thanked all who have been involved in its creation, including Pembrokeshire County Council, BAM construction and all who work at and attend Ysgol Bro Gwaun
