This year our year 11 pupils will have their qualifications awarded through a Centre-Determined Grade (CDG) model. This means that their grades will be determined by teachers based on their assessment of pupil’s work.
Below you can find all the information you need which explains our processes and procedures at Ysgol Bro Gwaun.
Should you wish to discuss any matter related to CDGs, please contact us.
You will be aware that Pembrokeshire College have produced a transition programme for all prospective college learners which will run from the 24th of June to the 29th of June. You should have received this information directly, it is also available to view on our social media platforms.
In light of this, we have decided to bring forward the date for issuing provisional GCSE outcomes from the 25th of June to the 23rd of June. We are required only to provide GCSE results at this stage. Results from vocational courses such as engineering and hairdressing will be published in August.
This will allow learners to share their provisional grades with college staff during the transition days, which may be useful in helping learners when making course decisions.
The provisional grades, along with information regarding the appeals and grade review process, will be emailed to students through their HWB accounts on the morning of Wednesday 23rd of June. There will be an opportunity for pupils and parents/carers to meet with key staff in the afternoon should they wish to do so. Further details will be provided in due course.
Please note, these are provisional results and are subject to further standardisation and accountability measures by the WJEC.
Final grades will be published by the WJEC in the usual way on the 12th of August, GCSE results day- further details to follow.
